Merry Christmas everyone!
Looks like we'll be on for a ride on Thursday 28th. We're doing the MBR route at Coed y Brenin. So far its me, Jim, Dad and the Neils I think. Pretty sure Jim K will be doing it 2 so all we need now is Matt and it'll be a full ride until Brin is fixed! Should be a good laugh and chance to work off some of that Christmas munch!

Crank Problems

Don't buy Truvativ Stylo cranks anyone! I took my bike in yesterday as I'm getting some play from the bottom bracket area. I've only done 4 rides! It seems like the bearings have gone as everything seems to be tight. Am planning on paying the difference for some Raceface Atlas cranks so I can get on with some riding!
Aside from that me and the Jim's had an awesome ride round the MBR route on tuesday. Such a good trail!

More Welsh Riding

Iya everyone. How are we all?
Just got back from Rhyader after doing a ride with Jim and Dad. The plan was to pick up a route that incorporated some crazy singletrack. That didn't happen and we got a bit lost! Very hard to navigate over there so we'll go back another time and find it.
Instead we picked up some other trails which were awesome. We found a fantastic route down into Rhyader. Its a popular 4 x 4 route so that says something! Lots of rocks and drops on a wide trail with loads of options for lines!
My bike is still awesome and was loving the abuse! Bye bye Ransom!

Riding and Signing In

Iya everyone hope you are all good.
Just got an email from Neil about riding over xmas. When we have an idea what we're doing I'll slap it on here.
Also just to clarify, when you sign in at blogger.com you need to sign into the blogger beta and not the standard blogger. Am sure most of you know this but just to make sure..
Right I'll attempt some work even though I'd much rather be on a mountain armed with my enduro!

Welsh Riding

Iya. Just to let everyone know that me and the Jim's will be riding in Wales on the 19th and 20th if anyone is free for a ride. As for the Brin's amongst us who can't ride, we'll meet you for a beer (and some games as Rainbow Six Vegas is amazing).
Take it easy

2 Days of Wales...

Morning all.
Really good 2 or 1 day of riding, depending who you are. MBR route at Coed y brenin on Wednesday and Marin trail on Thur. The weather was a little bit Welsh, but didnt stop a fantastic couple of rides.....
Marin was good, but would like to do it again when a little bit drier (and lighter for the final decent!)
Still really enjoyed it all and thanks for letting me crash at the cottage and wash my smalls!
Ian's bike is cool, like a play bike for me, but one that actually rolls well - I really should get some better tyres. It almost is unbelievable that you can tell the difference just pushing the bike along. Mine feels like it is pulling an anchor!
Anyway continue this chat later as some of us have to work...... :)

Sunday, 3 December 2006

Hello there! Glad that the new bike seems to be running well Ian. I am looking forward to seeing its....browness... No, I am sure it will be v good. I certainly love mine. Also looking forward to the week of riding in wales for a couple of days and catching up properly with a couple of bevvies!?!? On the subject of meeting people in stupid places on the trails my normal and formally accepted approach is to say "morning boss" irrespective of the time of day. Later dudes.

Trail Usage at the Chase

It just seems to be happening more and more when we are out riding. People not using their brains and getting in the way. On saturday we had three women walking all across a fireroad. I said excuse me and i was for once polite and they did move. one of them gave ian a filthy look so he told her to cheer up, fair play.
Today on follow the dog and the 1st outing for bruv's new bike we had runners on the singletrack and a twonk. The runners did keep getting out of the way but you do have to wonder why they choose to run on the mtb singletrack. Its not as if the chase is short of trails.
The twonk in question (leisure rider at a guess), was stopped on the singletrack on the open hillside after the steep climb, straight after a corner. I said "good place to stop mate" he replied with "i'm waiting for them". I said "I don't care". Would of been great if was stopped on the corner, would of just ploughed straight into him. That would teach him, i tell thee.

New Bike!

The Ransom has gone and I now have a Specialized Enduro Pro. Its awesome apart from the bars are poo (Neil will know what I mean, the horrible narrow ones with no sweep) so I've just ordered some oversized Answer Pro Tapers.
Gonna give it a thrash round the chase in a min. Here's to having a bike that will work!
Take it easy!
